and A Fish Named Wanda
as told to Anne Evans
I am Suzie Star, a native Caymanian Cat, and I just turned Two!
Alas, Anne and Rick weren’t here to throw me a party. They had to go to Turkey (see what my Grand Cayman roommates did in Turkey without me), and I wasn’t allowed to come.
However, I had 2 really cool ladies – Leslie and Helen – who made sure that I was well cared for. This was not just your basic fresh food and water; it was 5-star pampering! I had play time with heaps of love – plus they sent photos to my favorite people, Rick and Anne, so they wouldn’t worry.
Helen gave me the best toy EVER for my Birthday, which upon her return home, Anne named after the movie “A Fish Called Wanda”. This is me with Wanda, with me wearing my “don’t you dare mess with my toys” look.

Wanda and I enjoyed grand times together. She helped me perfect my signature athletic moves.
Unfortunately, Wanda was not as tough as I am. She never complained however our sessions were taking a toll on her. First she lost a few sparkles; then a fin … The end came when I accidentally “gutted” her. I swear, it was unintentional.

I suppose Anne and Rick had noticed because Wanda disappeared one morning. I remember that later that day Anne was doing something strange at her desk …
[*Editor’s Note: Anne was engaged in transplant surgery. Good thing that she had learned to sew as a child.]
And suddenly, there on the floor, was Minnie Mouse where Wanda had once been.

Wow! “MM” is a really talented playmate too ─ and I’ve never had a red toy before.
Here are a few of my better action photos, starting with my hockey “face off” …

Followed by my preparing to field a High Fly … (that’s Minnie Mouse swinging in the top left, so she’s a little fuzzy)

Wow, that was exhausting, so then I needed a Time Out …

Anne took lots of other action photos, including my soccer debut, my high jump for Track & Field, even my Pickle Ball Ace … alas, I guess I was having too much fun, and it was hard to get a clear photo. So after showing Rick and Anne all of my sporting skills, I tired myself out for the day … and the games were over …

Indeed, Minnie Mouse and I … we’ll make a great team too. Unbeatable!
